Ahead of the NFL scouting combine which wrapped up over the weekend, Draft Wire released their updated 2022 first-round mock draft. The Bills remain at pick 25 and select a versatile offensive lineman from Texas A&M, Kenyon Green.
The Bills have a surprising amount of needs for a perennial playoff contender, so this pick will be about maximizing value at any number of positions. This scenario gives them the chance to add a versatile blocker in Green, who can play either guard or tackle at a high level.
Green has been a mocked draft choice before.
A junior, he made 12 starts in 2021 across multiple positions.
He started seven times at left guard, twice at right tackle, twice at right guard, and once at left tackle. Green has 35 career starts across every position but center.
Green’s versatility could slot him into the Bills offensive line Day 1 if he shows enough during OTAs.
The Bills have two guards ready to hit free agency and one in Daryl Williams who could be a cut candidate.
If Green can outplay Jon Feliciano, a spot upfront would be his.
He stands at 6-foot-4, 325 pounds, and has been described as having a physical, rugged playstyle. That fits the Bills mold upfront and matched Spencer Brown who started as a rookie this past season.
Another trait of his is how he consistently looks for work when uncovered. Again, fitting Buffalo’s mold for their recent offensive line selections.
Green has the ability to play both tackle and guard but most scouts see him as a future high-quality starting offensive guard in the league.
