Never judge a book by its cover… never read a story just based on the headline… and everything in between.
Bills center Mitch Morse took to his social media account on Instagram and the feelings of football soon returning took over. Morse appears to have had the fact that he’ll be back in Buffalo taking part in training camp next week on his mind.
Unfortunately this had one side effect: Some of his Bills teammates thought he was typing out a retirement post.
First, Morse’s post.
He went on to write that “Year 7 is almost underway.” But to some of those teammates’ point… his message did have a “retirement vibe” to it at first:
“As the years progress” certainly triggers some time of feeling upon reading it. But no, no… Morse will be the man hiking the ball to quarterback Josh Allen in 2021.
Now onto the real question. Who was fooled?
Bills Wire’s Bradley Gelber had the answer. Those two were Jordan Devey and Cody Ford:

Along with Devey and Ford, Khalil McKenzie, a lineman currently with the Ravens and previously one of Morse’s teammates with the Chiefs, was fooled as well. McKenzie said his “heart sank” for Morse at first in a comment.
Thankfully when it’s all said and done, this one will simply just go down as a… “whoops” moment.
