There’s a certain weight that comes with being a first-round pick, not that Kaiir Elam knows anything about that.
Elam, Buffalo’s selection at the No. 23 overall spot at the 2022 NFL draft is trying to take things easy and in stride so far in his short career. Elam said there is “no pressure” on him while at the Bills’ rookie minicamp over the weekend.
Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott noted, in a way, there’s no reason for Elam to feel pressure as well. The coach is confident it’ll work out for Elam with the Bills–He was picked for a reason, after all.
“We think in our system, it’ll be good and he’ll be able to play well in a mutually beneficial approach to press, off, changing some things up. And he’s got a great support system behind him,” McDermott said.
