Josh Allen has a remarkable streak of five straight finishes as either the overall QB1 or QB2 in fantasy football. He finished 2024 as the QB2 behind Lamar Jackson. Fantasy Football Outlook for Josh Allen
2024 Production
Allen won the MVP in 2024, just edging out Jackson for the award. His stats were a little bit down last season, having his lowest passing yards and passing touchdowns total since 2019. Most importantly, it was also his lowest interception total of his career.
Allen was dominant on the ground, having his second straight season with double-digit rushing touchdowns. The Bills and Allen were starting to take advantage of the Tush Push.
Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson claimed the last two NFL MVP honors, while Jalen Hurts earned Super Bowl MVP in February.

Allen was not as consistent in 2024 as he has been in past years. He had five weekly finishes outside of the top 12 quarterbacks (plus the Week 18 game, in which he played one snap to keep his start streak alive). However, he had four finishes as the QB1, including back-to-back weeks where he put up 50 points and then 40 points against the Rams and Lions.
Allen 2025 Outlook
The Bills did not have the strongest pass-catching room last year, and will probably be around the middle of the pack this year. They signed Josh Palmer in free agency to join Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel. They also have two above-average tight ends in Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid.
The Bills also have a great running back consisting of James Cook, Ray Davis, and Ty Johnson. This offense should be one of the best in the NFL again in 2025 with Allen leading the way.

According to FantasyPros, Allen is being drafted as the QB1 in redraft fantasy football as the 22nd overall pick in standard one-QB leagues, which is one spot ahead of Jackson. Jayden Daniels, Joe Burrow, and Jalen Hurts are all going one to two rounds later. 22nd overall would be at the end of the second round in 12-team leagues, which is very early to take a quarterback. However, Allen is worth that early pick due to his remarkable consistency.
Should You Draft or Pass On Josh Allen in 2025 Fantasy Football?
Drafting Allen in the late second round or early third round in fantasy drafts depends on each manager’s philosophy. Do you want to have a top two fantasy quarterback, but sacrifice another position? If taking Allen here, managers are probably doing the Zero RB strategy. This means they are waiting until later in the draft to take running backs, while making sure that they are very strong at WR, TE, and QB.
On the other hand, you can wait until later in the Draft to take a quarterback later, while taking an elite WR or RB in the second round. This year, there are so many great fantasy quarterbacks outside of the top ten that have top-five potential, such as Dak Prescott, Justin Fields, and Drake Maye. For that reason, I am passing on Josh Allen in standard fantasy leagues and waiting to take a quarterback later in the Draft.
