Josh Allen Credits 1 Main Thing For His Development

Josh Allen #17 of the Buffalo Bills looks for an open teammate

Josh Allen wasn’t considered a finished project coming out of college, but that didn’t concern Buffalo Bills. Unlike some teams that try to rush the process, they gave Allen all the tools and time he needed to become a successful quarterback in the NFL.

Clearly, the Bills’ plan worked because Allen is coming off an MVP-caliber season. He completed a career-high 69.2 percent of his passes for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

During a recent interview with Kevin Clark of The Ringer, Allen revealed why his development in Buffalo has been so successful. In Allen’s opinion, it all comes down to having patience.

“I think patience is probably the main thing,” Allen told Clark, via The Ringer. “Obviously, Year 1 wasn’t fantastic. Coming from where I came from, I think that was kind of the plan the Bills had when they drafted me. They knew it might take some time.”

Allen didn’t just give the Bills credit for staying patient with him, he brought up how they managed to keep the majority of their coaching staff intact.

“Look at the consistency I’ve had: same head coach, same offensive coordinator, bringing in a guy like Ken Dorsey who has been here for three years, same general manager. Then what they did Year 2 revamping the offensive line, Year 3 getting some weapons. And now Year 4. It’s go time. Patience, consistency of developing around a young quarterback. I think that the Bills did it the right way.”

I wanted to know the lessons teams can learn from the rise of Josh Allen so I asked the expert on such matters. His name is Josh Allen. Read: https://t.co/YwjMJQbpdf

Allen is entering his fourth year in the NFL and seems hell-bent on leading Buffalo to the Super Bowl.

If Allen has another fantastic season for the Bills, he’ll most likely receive a lucrative contract that’ll be right on par with some of the highest salaries in the league.
