Jon Feliciano: Bills treated O-line like 'thorn in the heel'

August 9, 2022 by Bills Wire Leave a Comment

Jon Feliciano followed some members of the Buffalo Bills to his new team in the New York Giants. Among those was former Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll turned Giants head coach.

Even with those familiarities, Feliciano likes what’s different in New York.

Feliciano left the on March 9 when he was released by the Bills. It gave the team a bit of salary cap relief, but Feliciano falling out of favor at the end of last season played a part.

Likely hand-in-hand with that, Feliciano spoke out on Buffalo’s coaching staff at Giants training camp.

Feliciano told the New York Post that his current coach in Daboll is much more positive toward the offensive line as opposed to Bills coach Sean McDermott.

“The last place I was, we were kind of the thorn in the heel,” Feliciano said. “Here it’s different. Dabes has really been honest and giving us love, so it’s been great.”

The 30-year-old has already previously spoken out on his time in Buffalo. He had positives to say about the area but admitted he thought he should been in the lineup during the Bills’ 2021 postseason run.

Some took such sentiments as a slight against the Bills, but Feliciano is an athlete and most in his situation would have felt the same.

Feliciano originally exited the starting lineup last year due to injury and bouts with COVID-19. Upon recovery, Feliciano ended up not earning his starting spot back.

Buffalo turned things over to Ike Boettger at left guard, and once Boettger went down with injury, Ryan Bates replaced him. Bates finished the year starting.

While Feliciano departed, both Boettger and Bates ended up re-signing in Buffalo.

Feliciano missed a few days of training camp due to dehydration this summer, but is on track to be the Giants’ starting center.

Feliciano ended up spending three seasons with the Bills, appearing in 34 games while making 31 starts.
