The past 12 months have been possibly the most exciting in Bills history

On the one year anniversary of the Jamie D & Big Newt podcast, the hosts look at the details of the past year, starting with doubt of whether the 2020 season could even be played due to COVID-19.

It’s easy to forget that the expectations for the Buffalo Bills was to make the playoffs, and perhaps improve on the prior season, but nobody foresaw the thrilling season that it was, highlighted by quarterback Josh Allen’s elite play and a 13-3 regular season record.

The playoffs brought some close games in the divisional rounds, followed by a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that exposed some of the team’s weaknesses.

With the offseason came news of a reduced salary cap, meanwhile core players such as linebacker Matt Milano, guard John Feliciano, and tackle Darryl Williams had expiring contracts and were scheduled to become free agents. While many expected the Bills to lose one or two from that group, general manager Brandon Beane and his front office found ways to not only retain all three, they also added wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.

The draft brought expectations of the Bills selecting a cornerback or running back in the first round, only to see the team pick defensive end Greg Rousseau at number 30. A curveball was thrown when they also a selected a defensive end in the second round.

That takes us up to the present, in which the preseason game against the Chicago Bears was discussed, as well as recent personnel transactions.

Also, Big Newt is once again giving away a prize from his Boom-Boom Room. Listen for details!
