Few quarterbacks can speak to what it takes to be great like Hall of Famer Steve Young.
After toiling away in Tampa in the beginning of his career, Young later found himself in an amazing situation taking over for Joe Montana on the 49ers and went on to become a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time MVP.
But it took a while for Young to get that proverbial monkey off his back. And he thinks Josh Allen needs more if he’s going to do the same:
Hall-of-Fame QB @SteveYoungQB one famously got the monkey off his back. Here he discusses whether Bills’ QB Josh Allen can, and will, do the same:

Even when you’re Superman, Superman needs help and you need enough help to go get it done. I’ve said for the last three years, they have a good team. But he needs more help around him because they ask him to be Superman too much. If you notice the Bills, suddenly things get crazy and then he puts the cape on before the play is even finished. … You just cannot keep it up, you can’t make enough plays. … Get it in people’s hands, make it an efficiency game as well. Make it a Superman and efficiency. That’s the superpower.
No quarterback has scored more total touchdowns than Josh Allen over the last four seasons (including playoffs). But postseason success still eludes the city of Buffalo.
