Training camp is officially back for the Buffalo Bills, and it is great to be discussing real football with the Buffalo Rumblings community. In this edition of Four Downs I talk about my excitement for a pair of rookies, open practice, Leslie Frazier, and more.
Rousseau and Basham making an early impact at training camp
Yes, I do realize it is the first week of training camp. I also realize that the team is not wearing pads yet, so I should temper my expectations. With that being said, it is nice to read reports that the Gregory Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr. are making an early impact at training camp. Defensive end is a position group to watch throughout camp, with Rousseau and Basham at the top of the list.
First open practice an overwhelming success
While some are understandably disappointed that the Bills are not at St. John Fisher this summer, the team hosted the first of three open practices at Highmark Stadium on Saturday. By all accounts it was an overwhelming success, with over 15,000 fans in attendance. You can see all of the coverage at BuffaloBills.com.
Leslie Frazier addresses the media
Earlier this week, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier addressed the media for the first time during training camp. While much praise is deservedly given to Sean McDermott and Brian Daboll, I sometimes find Frazier to be the forgotten man on the coaching staff. But each time I hear him address the media, I am reminded of how fortunate the Bills are to have him on staff. In this segment he answers plenty of questions on Levi Wallace, Rousseau, Basham, and much more.
Podcast of the Week
There were so many great listens over the past week, but nothing was as creative and unique as The Bruce Exclusive: the Musical. If you have not caught this special episode yet, I would highly encourage you to do so. It is an incredibly fun listen for all members of Bills Mafia.
