Former Super Bowl Champion Would Take Josh Allen Over Patrick Mahomes

If you thought the results from last weekend’s Divisional Round would put an end to the Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen debate, think again.

During a recent edition of NFL Network’s “Total Access,” former Giants offensive lineman Shaun O’Hara said he’d take Allen over Mahomes.

O’Hara, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler, claims Allen is the better “pure quarterback” at this stage in his career.

“Regardless of the outcome, I’m taking Josh Allen every single time,” O’Hara said. “Pure quarterback play, I think Josh Allen is better.”

When the rest of the panel for “Total Access” brought up Mahomes’ achievements, O’Hara replied, “Patrick Mahomes has the better team.”

Shaun O’Hara goes to astronomical lengths to explain on NFL Network why he would take Josh Allen over Patrick Mahomes in spite of Allen losing his third straight playoff game to Mahomes.

Allen is an exceptional talent, there’s no doubt about it. However, it’s tough to rank him ahead of Mahomes when he doesn’t have the individual accolades that Mahomes has.

Once Allen defeats Mahomes in the playoffs, the debates can start. Until then, No. 15 has to be considered the best quarterback in the game.
