There’s a lot of coaching movement happening around the NFL right now. That could open up a big opportunity for one former quarterback-turned-coach.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are planning to interview former quarterback and Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey for their vacant offensive coordinator position next week. The Bucs job was vacated yesterday when the Carolina Panthers hired Dave Canales as their head coach.

“Buccaneers plan to interview Ken Dorsey next week for their offensive coordinator position, per source. Dorsey also interviewed with the Browns this week for their OC position,” Schefter wrote on X.

Dorsey served as offensive coordinator in Buffalo for two seasons before being fired in the middle of the 2023 season following a 5-5 start. Before that, Dorsey was the team’s quarterbacks coach from 2019 to 2021, including their passing game coordinator in 2021.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked just about everyone by not only making the playoffs in their first-year post-Tom Brady, but doing so with Baker Mayfield as their starting quarterback. They then compounded the surprise by knocking off the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.

But with Canales gone, it’s going to be interesting to see how the offense looks in 2024 with a new coordinator and potentially another new quarterback if they don’t retain Mayfield.

Would Ken Dorsey be a good fit for the job?
