Cole Beasley was reportedly one of two Buffalo Bills players sent home from the team’s facility on Tuesday.
According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Beasley and fellow wide receiver Gabriel Davis were sent home as close contacts to someone who tested positive for COVID-10.
Beasley and Davis reportedly both tested negative. However, because they are unvaccinated, they have to isolate from the rest of the team for five days.
Buffalo #Bills news: Per a source, Cole Beasley & Gabriel Davis passed this morning’s COVID test (came back negative) but have been removed from facility & must undergo 5-day reentry process as close contacts to a member of team’s training staff who tested positive for #COVID19

Leonard had more on the situation:
“This underscores two sides of the coin: 1. If players were vaccinated, they wouldn’t have to be out for 5 days But 2. A vaccinated player/staff can still test positive for #COVID19, which can contribute to outbreak or spread in a building that could compromise a game Bills,” he reported.

Beasley has been very outspoken against the vaccine mandates and NFL protocols.
“The players association is a joke. Call it something different. It’s not for the players,” Beasley said on Twitter earlier this month. “Everyone gives me the 98 percent of people who are vaccinated don’t get covid again. The odds of me getting in the NFL and playing for 10 years are lower than that and I’m here. … So what are we really talking about? I understand completely why the NFL is doing this. It gives them back the freedom to make the most money as possible again if everyone is vaccinated. But will anyone fight for the players or nah?”
The Bills open the regular season on Sept. 12 against the Steelers.
