ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — A blizzard of team spirit is hovering over the 716 as Buffalo Bills fans prepare for the Buffalo Bills prime time match up against the New England Patriots.
Despite what the weather forecast might look like for Sunday’s game, the Buffalo Bills are predicting a white out inside Highmark Stadium.
“I literally think this is the first time that we had a white out, so I’m excited to see the stands in white instead of blue,” said Dion Dawkins earlier in the week.
The Buffalo Bills are asking fans to wear white in the stands to help make Highmark Stadium appear as a blizzard of white on an October night. The Buffalo Bills will be debuting their Cold Front uniform on the field.
The designer says the new uniforms will help tell a story of our city.
“Basically, so this was–what do you think of when you think late November, December football? You think the elements, the weather, so cold front–an obvious that we landed on,” said Aaron La Porta, the director of design.
At The BFLO Store, they have starter jackets, pullovers, hats and even a giveaway happening on Saturday, where with a purchase of $125 or more, you can get a free Bills rivalry sweatshirt.
Fans who travelled into town for the game are searching for what they’ll be wearing in the stands.
“I lived in Phoenix for a while and I’m very familiar how white outs, and how crazy they can get, and how cool it looks for people on TV,” said Timothy Pietrzak, who traveled in from Las Vegas for the Bills game. “I’m looking for a white T-shirt because I didn’t have much of an advance to stock up on white stuff and I don’t want to be one of the people wearing a blue one, even though they are the best jerseys in the league.”
The cloud of cold front team spirit hovered over Dr. George E. Blackman School of Excellence in Buffalo. Fake snow, cheering, and Buffalo pride filled their school the Friday before the prime-time game.
“It was heartwarming because I think our children, even though we have hard days sometimes, learning that they need to have fun, they need to know that it’s okay to smile, to laugh, and just cheer for each other and cheer for others in our city,” said Principal Dawne McNeal.
