A versatile and valuable “sixth lineman” for Buffalo’s offense, Anderson is currently sidelined

Injuries continue piling up for the Buffalo Bills, and it’s now taking a toll on the offensive line. Reserve offensive tackle Alec Anderson reportedly injured his left knee in training camp on Monday, July 28. A truly versatile and valuable swing tackle for the Bills’ offense, Anderson made four starts during the 2024 season.

Kyle Trimble (of Banged Up Bills) noted that Anderson was observed wearing a “full sleeve” on that same (left) leg prior to Monday’s injury. Then on Wednesday, July 29, Trimble re-shared a post from Anderson’s wife showing him working out mere hours after having surgery on what appears to be the left knee.

Trimble, a noted doctor of physical therapy (and former Buffalo Rumblings contributor), went on to mention that the procedure looks like “a cleanup, possible meniscus trim, could take a few weeks to get full go again.”

Now, the Bills officially list Anderson as week-to-week. That’s good news, and hopefully means Anderson will be ready to go if need by Week 1 of the regular season.

Anderson injured his L knee at practice on Monday & left. He was wearing a full sleeve on the L leg prior to this.

Now he undergoes surgery 2 days later. Looks like a cleanup, possible meniscus trim, could take a few weeks to get full go again.

In a positive development, the Bills activated starting right tackle Spencer Brown off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Thursday, July 31. Brown had been dealing with a back injury, which the team reportedly described as a “flare up.”
