Buffalo Bills S Micah Hyde suffers yet another stinger; questionable to return

Hyde suffered his third stinger of the season right before halftime in Kansas City

The Buffalo Bills headed to the locker room at halftime leading the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 14-7, but right before, Micah Hyde suffered yet another stinger that sent the veteran safety to the sidelines.

Hyde was injured on a previous play, but was able to stay in the game as the Bills used a timeout as they were trying to get the ball back and get one more offensive shot to extend their lead before the half. However, the relief of seeing the 32-year-old safety able to stay on the field after sitting on his knees was short lived. Hyde came up holding an arm after the next play, headed across the field to the Buffalo sideline but wasn’t able to make it all the way before he ended up down again — this time in obvious pain (or maybe frustration).

Hyde was involved with hit on TV camera side and tried to make it across to #Bills sideline but couldn’t. Was holding left arm. He walked off the field.

The blue medical tent was put up and Hyde, holding his left arm, entered the tent. Before the clock hit zero, with the Bills’ offense back on the field, Hyde could be seen sitting with defensive teammates, but the Bills quickly announced that he was questionable to return with a stinger.

Injury Update: S Micah Hyde (stinger) is questionable to return.

Hyde underwent neck surgery early last season after a disc injury in Week 2, and now has had three stingers this season — all of which have affected his left arm. Definitely not a good sign for the veteran safety who has 24 solo tackles and two interceptions this season.

This is Hyde’s 3rd stinger since Week 9, all affecting the left arm. #Bills https://t.co/aLlX2IVtwf

With Hyde most likely not returning to the game, the Bills have Cam Lewis and Taylor Rapp as the other safeties on today’s active roster who could potentially join Jordan Poyer in the defensive backfield.
