The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Malik Williams. The team announced the move on Friday.
Williams, a rookie, signed with Buffalo following the 2022 NFL draft as an undrafted free agent. He attended school at Appalachian State.
Williams had recently taken part in the Bills’ rookie minicamps and OTAs (organized team activities) this spring.
The transaction comes shortly after Buffalo announced the addition of veteran wideout Tavon Austin.
Williams is a 5-foot-10 receiver who recorded 190 catches, 2,382 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in college.
In cutting Williams, it keeps a roster spot open for the Bills to potentially add another player down the line either before or during training camp. Buffalo has 88 total players currently under contract, leaving the team two open spots.
