The Bills QB is expected to have a big week
The regular season is finally here, and each week we’ll provide a fantasy update for the Buffalo Bills. The New York Jets head to Orchard Park for Week 1, in an attractive match-up for Josh Allen owners. Check out my thoughts below, and be sure to share your fantasy takes in the comments section.
All in on Allen
While the debate will continue if Josh Allen is a franchise quarterback, most fantasy football owners see him as a bonafide QB1. This especially holds true in Week 1 against a Jets defense that does not feature C.J. Mosley and Jamal Adams. Expect Allen to challenge cornerbacks Bless Austin and Pierre Desir early and often on Sunday, with Stefon Diggs and John Brown serving as the primary beneficiaries.
How will the backfield shake out?
While I am confident in Allen on Sunday, I can’t say the same about Devin Singletary and Zack Moss. Both could be FLEX plays, but I need to see how this timeshare plays out first before I start either one with confidence. If you have Singletary he will likely be in your starting line-up—I just prefer to see how things play out.
Diggs set to explode
Personally, I feel as if the fantasy football world has been sleeping on Diggs a bit this offseason. Yes, I know he is in a new system, And yes, I know Allen is not known for his accuracy. But I also know that John Brown finished as a top-20 receiver in PPR leagues last year—and I certainly have higher expectations for Diggs. I am starting him with confidence as a WR2 against a depleted Jets secondary.
Bills D leads the pack
The Jets are featuring a brand new offensive line this year, and feature a banged up receiving corps. This is a group that could have used some more time to gel this offseason, making them a vulnerable opponent for the Bills’ defense. The collection of ESPN experts have the Bills as the top-ranked defense in Week 1. Start them with confidence.
