Buffalo Bills DE Efe Obada fined for preseason hit

The NFL has fined one Buffalo Bills defender for a hit during the exhibition season.

According to NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero, Bills defensive end Efe Obada is the culprit. Obada was nicked $6,944 for a hit during Buffalo’s meeting with the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the preseason.

On the play, the Bills defense was facing the Lions’ backup quarterback Tim Boyle. Obada pressured the QB and hit him low.

Linebacker Andre Smith ended up intercepting the ball but Obada’s hit negated it and the pass rusher has now been fined.

Despite Obada’s low hit, he’s impressed so far this offseason.

Obada signed a one-year deal with the Bills in free agency and the England-born player was once thought of as a guy that might not make Buffalo’s roster out of training camp.

That’s because the Bills drafted Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham with their top two draft picks in 2021. Both are pass rushers like Obada.

However, because of Obada’s strong play, he appears like a someone now poised to make the Bills’ roster after all.
