This Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns will not take place in upstate New York. Moments ago, the NFL officially announced a new location for this Week 11 matchup.
The Bills and Browns will square off in Detroit. Kickoff will remain at 1 p.m. ET.
By moving this game to the Motor City, the NFL is giving the Bills a chance to get used to their surroundings for Thanksgiving. They’ll take on the Lions next Thursday.
NFL fans wanted to see the Bills and Browns battle the elements this Sunday, especially since the current weather forecast is calling for three-to-six feet of snow in Buffalo.
Although the Bills will technically lose a home game because of the weather, the NFL had no choice but to relocate this game.
Earlier this Thursday, Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for the Buffalo region.
“What we’re talking about is a major, major storm,” Hochul said. “This is considered an extreme event, an extreme weather event. That means it’s dangerous. It also means it’s life-threatening.”
Hopefully, everyone in Buffalo stays safe this weekend.
