Shocking no one in Buffalo, Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White was once again called one of the best in the business.
Our friends at Touchdown Wire ranked the NFL’s top-11 outside cornerbacks and White slots in at No. 5 overall. Here’s NFL’s Wire’s breakdown on White via Doug Farrar:
The AFC East is slowly entering a cornerback arm’s race, and that leads us to our next member of the division to place on this list. Tre’Davious White has quickly become one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks thanks to a combination of veteran savvy and athleticism. He has the movement skills to stick on receivers running any route, but what stands out to me is his awareness in zone coverage situations.
White’s latest praise comes after a couple of other football outlets also ranked him in a similar fashion. The football analytics folks at Pro Football Focus called White the seventh-best cornerback earlier this offseason. NFL.com followed suit, naming White as the fifth-best lockdown cornerback in the league.
While White hasn’t cracked a top-three spot this offseason… that’s fine. At the top of any such lists, especially at cornerback, it’s really a matter of splitting hairs. Every player is very talented.
Even though White is at No. 5 in TD Wire’s list, he could slot in anywhere in the top-five. The other four ahead of White that one could make a case for him passing includes:
4. Xavien Howard (Dolphins)
3. Marlon Humphrey (Ravens)
2. Jaire Alexander (Packers)
1. Jalen Ramsey (Rams)
