Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs sounds excited to suit up for his new team. In fact, he’s just pumped to play some football.

But consider Diggs one of the Bills players that isn’t sure how to feel about playing the 2020 NFL regular season due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Diggs took to his social media account on Twitter on Tuesday and wrote a few messages in a row, moments apart. Diggs said he misses football and he’s stayed ready to go this offseason, but he added he would be “lying if I said I was comfortable starting back up.” Here’s his full message:

But there’s so many unanswered questions with this upcoming season. I’d be lying if I said I was comfortable starting back up..

The Bills acquired Diggs to be their No.1 wideout for quarterback Josh Allen. Diggs cost Buffalo a first-round pick and a slew of others. He’s going to have a massive role with his new team and the spotlight from all corners of the country are going to be on him.

Still, Diggs’ point is a just one. The NBA and MLB are currently trying to return to action before the NFL. Plenty of issues involving testing and keeping players and teams safe have come about and their games haven’t even started yet. Diggs isn’t even the first player on his own team to have second thoughts. Just in the past few weeks, Bills safety Micah Hyde came out and said multiple players in the league are a bit worried.

The NFL is currently insisting that training camps will start on time, as planned, at the end of July. We’ll see about that when we get there, but the positive silver lining for players and the league is that the regular season is planning for a regular start, meaning they are not trying to rush back like other sports leagues, instead, they’re waiting until September.

Here’s to hoping for some good updates before then.
