The Buffalo Bills have been making plenty of moves this offseason as they look to improve the team enough to hopefully break through the barrier to the Super Bowl. After adding some talented, young players to the franchise in the 2024 NFL draft, Buffalo is continuing to add to the roster in the hopes of a better 2024 season than what some might expect after trading away star wide-receiver Stefon Diggs.
The Bills have signed linebacker Deion Jones to a one-year deal. As of right now, details of the contract have not been made available, but Jones is someone who represents a low-risk, high-reward signing given that he is still a free-agent after all of this time has passed by in the offseason.
Jones, listed at 6-foot-1 and 222 pounds, will be entering his ninth season in the NFL after being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the 52nd overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 29-year-old spent his first six seasons with the Falcons and had an incredible start to his career as he finished his first season with the third-most votes for Defensive Rookie of the Year. He also made the Pro Bowl during his second season in the NFL.
Since then, Jones had put up decent numbers for Atlanta, but didn’t have the impact on the defensive side of the ball that he once did, paving the way for him to become a free-agent heading into the 2022 season when he later signed with the Cleveland Browns. Jones again entered free-agency heading into the 2023 season and signed with the Carolina Panthers before doing the same thing in signing with the Bills.
