Bills named among 9 'most complete' rosters in NFL

July 12, 2020 by Bills Wire Leave a Comment

The Bills added wide receiver Stefon Diggs this offseason via trade with the Vikings. In doing so, the idea was for Buffalo to put the cherry on top of their roster.

Prior to the deal, landing a game-changing receiver was the lone glaring need the Bills had. Buffalo addressed that issue with Diggs. NFL.com’s Adam Schein recently reflected exactly that.

Schein tabbed the nine “most complete” rosters in the NFL this past week. Of those nine, the Bills appeared at No.6 on his rankings.

Here’s the breakdown on the Bills roster:

Trade acquisition Stefon Diggs gives Josh Allen the true No. 1 receiver he needed — and gives Buffalo legit depth and talent at receiver, joining John Brown and Cole Beasley. Allen was so tough and clutch last year when it mattered during the regular season. I really think he’s primed for a monster 2020. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss will be a solid 1-2 punch at running back, too.

It’s only fitting that I haven’t even mentioned Sean McDermott’s defense, the unit which — unbeknownst to many — finished last season at second in points allowed and third in total D. The front seven is very strong, with Tremaine Edmunds emerging as one of the game’s most dynamic young linebackers. Tre’Davious White is a flat-out star at corner, earning first-team All-Pro honors last season.

Buffalo isn’t the flashiest team in the NFL, but it’s definitely one of the league’s best.

While maybe overlooked, most in Western New York will know the Bills have a force on defense. It’s been at top-three unit since McDermott took over in the NFL.

Circling back to the offense, that’s why Diggs was added as well.

There’s playmakers on defense at every level from Ed Oliver in the trenches to Tremaine Edmunds to Tre’Davious White in the secondary. Now on offense, Diggs brings the playmaking prowess to that side of the ball. It’s hard to argue against the Bills having a very talented roster, but the big question all always be Allen. Schein has long been a believer in the Bills signal caller, but many are still questioning exactly that. With this deep team in mind, if Allen changes some minds in 2020, the Bills could go very far next season.
