Orchard Park, NY (WGR550) – The Buffalo Bills began their week of preparation for the Miami Dolphins down several linebackers on Wednesday.
Matt Milano, Tremaine Edmunds, Del’Shawn Phillips, and Tyrel Dodson are all banged up and either didn’t practice, or did, but with red non-contact jerseys.
Edmunds, who left Sunday’s win over the Jets in the third quarter with a shoulder injury, was on the field and wearing a red jersey, but was not wearing shoulder pads. Milano, who exited the game just before halftime with a hamstring injury, did not practice. Neither did Phillips, who suffered a quad injury Sunday. Dodson also left Sunday’s game with an injury. He practiced Wednesday, but with a red non-contact jersey.
On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott called all of his injured players “day-to-day,” and noted that he didn’t believe any of them would be long-term.
Aside from the injured players mentioned, the Bills have A.J. Klein and Tyler Matakevich on their active roster. They also have Andre Smith on their practice squad, who the team chose to protect on Tuesday as one of its four weekly practice squad protected players.
Also of note Wednesday was the absence of wide receiver John Brown, who missed practice with a foot injury. It’s unclear when Brown injured his foot or how serious it is.
