While the wide receiver position is highlight for many regarding the Buffalo Bills and their top selection at the 2024 NFL draft after the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, pass rusher could still be an option.
According NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bills have brought in one of the upcoming draft’s top edge defender prospects, Laiatu Latu, for a top-30 visit:
By having a top-30 visit with Latu, Buffalo does appear to have some legitimate interest in him. The Bills are allowed to have up to 30 draft prospects in for pre-draft workouts, meetings, and more, and they decided to allocate one of those to Latu.
Because of Latu’s status as potentially the first pass rusher to be selected at the 2024 draft, it’s all the more interesting that he was in Buffalo. The Bills are slated to make their first selection at No. 28 overall so the Bills might even have to trade up to take him if there is genuine interest.
Latu put up a huge final season at UCLA last year with 21.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in 12 games played. One concern for him is a previous neck injury, but if that helps get him to Buffalo, he could be a huge defensive boost to a team that failed to get a top pass-rushing effort from the likes of Von Miller and others last season.
