BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills are bringing back veteran safety Jordan Poyer, the team announced Wednesday.
Poyer will be on the practice squad.
Poyer, 34, played with the Bills from 2017 to 2023, appearing in 107 games, intercepting 22 passes and completing nearly 700 tackles. He earned a first-team All-Pro nod in 2021 and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2022. In Buffalo, he was a team captain and leader of the defense.
He signed a one-year deal with the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins for the 2024 season and started in 16 games.
Poyer started his career as a seventh-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles and spent time in both Philadelphia and Cleveland before his first stint with the Bills.
The Bills put four safeties on the 53-man roster following roster cuts on Tuesday: Taylor Rapp, Cole Bishop, Damar Hamlin and Jordan Hancock.
Buffalo signed 15 other players to the practice squad on Wednesday, including quarterback Shane Buechele, running back Frank Gore, Jr., offensive lineman Dan Feeney, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and cornerback Dane Jackson.
