Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a potential game-tying field goal late in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, effectively ending the team’s Super Bowl hopes.
Despite how costly that missed field goal from Bass was, Bills head coach Sean McDermott doesn’t plan on making a change at kicker this offseason.
McDermott told reporters Tuesday that he’s confident in Bass.
“I am confident in Tyler,” McDermott said, via Jori Epstein. “I’ll start there and end there. But in between those two…yes, there are kicks we need to make. I’m very confident he’s going to do what’s necessary this offseason to (get) right.”

Bass made 24-of-29 field goal attempts during the 2023 regular season. In the postseason, however, he made just two of his five attempts.
If Bass’ struggles carry over to the 2024 season, the Bills will have to seriously consider moving on from him. For now, the coaching staff is hoping its loyalty will be rewarded.
