The Buffalo Bills have hired Alonzo Dotson as a national scout, bringing the former New York Jets regional scout into their front office.
In reporting the news, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero called the move a positive one for Buffalo:
The #Bills are hiring Alonzo Dotson as a national scout, per source. Dotson – a former Oklahoma defensive lineman and nephew of Santana Dotson – most recently was the #Jets’ southeast area scout. A rising name in the scouting ranks.

Dotson spent the past four years in that role with the Jets. Prior to that, Dotson worked in a scouting role with the Green Bay Packers for six NFL drafts.
Before working in the NFL, Dotson was a defensive quality control coach at the University of Houston.
