The Buffalo Bills placed four players on their Reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week following some circumstances involving a training staff member who tested positive for the virus.
The players did not test positive, however, they still had to quarantine due to NFL rules involving unvaccinated players. Others were also temporarily sent home as well.
Just in time for their game against the Green Bay Packers to roundout the preseason, those four players are back. The Bills announced on Friday that they were activated from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
Those four are:
- WR Cole Beasley
- WR Gabriel Davis
- DT Star Lotulelei
- DT Vernon Butler
It remains to be seen if any of the four play against the Packers. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott announced that starters, including quarterback Josh Allen, would see playing time against Green Bay.
However, the four haven’t been practicing with the team this week so it remains to be seen if they’d still play.
In corresponding moves, the team placed defensive tackle Treyvon Hester on injured reserve and released wide receiver Rico Gafford and defensive tackle Joey Ivie.
Additionally, on Thursday, the Bills released wide receiver Duke Williams and offensive lineman Forrest Lamp with injury settlements.
Buffalo currently has their roster limited to 80 players and will have to cut to 53 players by Tuesday. Running back Christian Wade’s roster exempt status brings the Bills to 81 total players.
