BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills filled their cornerback need in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. They have a pair of picks in the second round — 56 and 62 overall — but no picks in the third round. Here are 4 players who would be good fits for the Bills on day two of the draft.
DEFENSIVE TACKLE– Alfred Collins
The Bills missed out on the premier defensive tackles in the first round but there is still plenty of quality interior lineman left on the board. Alfred Collins from Texas is a mountain — 6’6”, 332 lbs — exactly the type of size the Bills need to add on the inside of the defensive line. Collins played in 64 games over 5 seasons for the Longhorns, so he is battle tested. He was a second team All-American in 2024 with 55 tackles, 5.5 TFLs with 1 sack, 7 PBUs, FF.
SAFETY– Xavier Watts
Notre Dame’s Xavier Watts is one of the top safeties in this year’s draft. The two-time All-American is a ball hawk, Watts had 13 interceptions over the past two seasons, the most in college football. Watts checks a lot of the boxes that NFL teams look for in a safety, including versatility. The Irish asked him to play deep safety, near the line of scrimmage and even matchup with receivers in the slot. NFL Scouts and draft analysts believe his biggest strength is instincts and the ability to diagnose plays.
EDGE– JT Tuimoloau
Ohio State’s JT Tuimoloau was a heating seeking missile off the edge for the Buckeyes. His resume is as good as it gets in this draft class. He started all 32 of Ohio State’s games over the past 3 seasons and was 1st team all Big10 each year. He was an offensive lineman’s nightmare in 2024 with 21.5 tackles for loss –third most in the country and 12.5 sacks — fifth most in the college football.
EDGE– Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson out of Arkansas racked up 6.5 sacks in each of the last 2 seasons on his way to All-SEC honors. Landon has elite size for an edge rusher— he is 6’6″– the same height as Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau and their weight is nearly identical as well
